Complete motion detected but no person detection

I walk in front of the two cameras from side to side very slowly and I get a notification for complete motion detection I go into the settings I turn off motion notifications but I only leave on person detection and it still won’t notify me of person detection. When I turned off motion detection and I walk in front of the cameras it doesn’t give me any notification at all. I have reset services and I’m on the latest firmware. I tried submitting a log but it says uploading failure. I have 8 WCO only 2 are doing this. I’m on Cam Plus Lite

Do you have person checked under detection settings. As I remember, you still have to enable person in smart detection to receive person notifications.

Yes I do. I’ve gone through the settings multiple times just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

If your logs can’t upload either it sounds like a connectivity issue. The cam has to be able to upload the image for analysis in a certain amount of time or it gives up (regular motion does not need analysis).

On this case I agree with @dave27. The cams are communicating with the base that is communicating to Wyze cloud. So it appears the connectivity issue is with the cam to the base or the base to Wyze cloud server. As long as you do not delete the cam or base but keep online, you can try to re-pair the cam with the base and see if that corrects the issue.

Have logged into Wyze web site and checked your account to see if the cams are linked for Cam Plus Lite?

I have 2 other cams on the same base and person detection works on those. I have checked my.wyze.com to make sure they are selected in Cam Plus Lite

So that tells you that the connectivity issue is probably between the base and those two cams, which helps narrow it down.

Given how old the cams are, it is not unlikely that the wifi chips in them have degraded and don’t have the range or throughput they once had. “Refurbished” would not have caught that most likely. If the two cams you bought are the same two cams having the issue then yeah, that seems pretty close to a smoking gun.
