I would love to have the option (off by default for privacy) to enable ChatGPT connection. I use GPT often for assisting me with my several aquariums. Having a connection would be nice so predictive maintenance could happen. The Wyze Cam V4 is very popular in the aquarium community and many of us could befit from this
I can’t help with an API, but if you are concerned about privacy have tried running AI locally? I run GPT4Free (open source) with no subscription, no tokens and no internet. Everything stays on my local machine. Check out this video and see if it meets your needs.
Curious, what you use AI for related to Wyze cameras? I assume you are not talking about video analysis.
It’s more of digital record keeping and trending for behavior of my creatures in my tank and growth rate of my macro algae.
Some things that would be AI useful would be noticing spots that may appear on fish or observations like “your clownfish have been favoring this area of the tank. Avoid placement of X there”.
It would be more image analysis and minor video analysis instead of me having to upload images and stuff all the time
It’s already possible. I connect to my Wyze account through Claude and Chatgpt.
You can get an API key and key id and tell the AI agents to look up the documentation for it and figure out how to use it.
Personally, the most convenient implementation is to use home assistant, then setup the home assistant HACS Wyze integration using the Wyze API key. Then with the home assistant MCP connection, let your agents use it to do things you want and if the integration doesn’t currently support something you want to do, just have the AI agents figure it out in the API and modify the integration appropriately. I have a lot of custom stuff added into the integration from the API.
My AIs are able to do lots of stuff with my Wyze account and devices.
