Never thought I would see cats
NOT chasing pigeons away

For some reason my cats don’t attack pigeons or doves or crows either.
Small House Finches are another story though.

I was totally amazed to see neither of them go after the pigeons. Now that you have also said you have experienced this too, I guess us humans assumed cats go after all birds, now we know better​
The male, sleeping in front of the storage box, I call him Brutus, as he has been through a lot over the years living outside, and is the dominate male around, actually the only male around, and has gone after finches, and caught them, sadly…but since I feed the cats, the finches have been safe.
I thought for sure he would, and she, would go after a big bird…
The female to the left, is more amused than anything

Twice a day I feed the cats?
Once about 6 am and then again between 5-7 pm…
I can’t imagine Pigeon Lunch
not being on their menu
Really though, they don’t even chase the pigeons away.
As there now has been multiple times, the pigeons show up,
The cats just lay on the patio or chairs, and just watch them,
as if they are watching an ant farm.
Maybe I am turning into Dr. Dolittle and don’t even realize it
That would explain the 2 Elephants walking through my yard
And why the cats are not chasing the pigeons away.
Brutus the male cat,
Fed him this morning ( late feeding, due to me having a bad nights sleep)
He even has his own bottle of beer !
( Really, it’s a Fly Trap and works great, cheap and simple)
Waste of Beer. 
Typical lazy cats, I’ll send a couple of the boys over to liven things up.

Fly catch liquid is just a bit a cat food, few scoops of sugar…shake it up a bit, and the dabbed the front door/opening of the fly trap to lead them into the bottle.
They can’t figure out how to get back out.
Once inside
I would never waste any beer!
Besides I stopped leaving bear around years ago,
when I came home one day from work,
only to find out why I keep missing beers out of the fridge each week
You seem to have a lot of those “boys” streaming through your back yard…

Yes they have a Storm Drain Fort across the street from the front of my house.They have been coming out of there for the last 40 years that I know of since I purchased the house. Sometimes they show up with four or five of their young critters for a family outing. The most I ever had at one time was two families of 5 show up 2 minutes apart. They just transit down the East yard, across the back yard North, over or under a 6 foot fence then make the return trip back to their fort.

That actually does looks like a fort.
Around for 40 years dam?, that’s multi generational housing.
That white cement strip, running across the street, must be where the town laid down sewer pipes. And that connects to their fort, and probably brings them alternative access points to the head of the fort…
WOW, 2 families of 5 raccoons showing up within 2 minutes apart…
That sounds like the troops were pushing forward in their planned attack
