My son loved this brand. He was a DIYer and set up my house with cameras and floodlights locks on doors etc. he passed away unexpectedly and I do not have access to his email and devices . Am I stuck with all these attached to my house without being able to use them or is something I can do to be able to use them?

My understanding is that if you do not have access to your sons account/email account.
you would have to create an account, then re-assign/setup the cameras under the new account.
As it is also my understanding that Wyze cam’s do not have security measure built in, that blocks a person from taking the camera or other device, and re-assigning it to a new account.
So you wont be able to get into your son’s Wyze account, setup.
But you can re-assign the Wyze devices to a new account that you create.
This is what i have read other users speak of, some mentioning there is no block, from a person stealing a camera, and setting it up on another account. unless that policy or lack of one, has changed.
Hope the info helps, and maybe other people can provide you more info on the process.
Should do further checking. Wireless Cams and locks (I think) cannot be moved to a new account. Without access to the original account to remove them, they become bricks.

I’m sorry to learn of your loss. I hope you’re taking the time you need for yourself to process your grief, and I think it’s great that you want to continue your son’s appreciation for these products. I also hope that you’ll find the Forum to be a useful resource, because there are a lot of helpful people here who enjoy sharing their experience with others.
As far as problem solving goes for continuing your use of the Wyze products, a couple of thoughts come to mind:
- Have you tried contacting Wyze Support? I don’t know if they have a process for transferring ownership in situations like this or not. If they do, then either having his Wyze account credentials[1] or having his account switched to your e-mail address would probably be the easiest solution. Because I’m unsure if Wyze has a pathway for these kinds of things, I’m going to ping @WyzeJasonJ and the @Mavens to see if any of them can provide some additional input.
- What specific Wyze devices do you have? I see Cam Outdoor v1 tagged in your topic, and if you really have that model (it uses a Base Station to connect), then my understanding with those and Cam Outdoor v2 is that they have to be deleted from an active account while they’re still online before they can be assigned to another Wyze account. If you can list the Wyze devices you actually have, then others here in the Forum will be able to provide better responses for you. You could also go through your list of devices and then search the Wyze Support site for articles about performing factory resets on the devices (again, note the exception about the Wyze Cam Outdoor models!) so that you can create your own Wyze account and add those.
I think this is primarily the right answer (with the Cam Outdoor caveat) and is probably the best way to go about this if you want to take care of it yourself and if Wyze can’t transfer ownership to you somehow.

This could still be a problem if he had two-factor authentication enabled on his account, because you would likely have to verify with access to his e-mail or phone number in order to complete authentication. ↩︎
I think the right suggestion is already listed above to just set them up again under your own account.
However, it is sometimes possible to contact the email company to convince them to give you access to his account if you prove that you are next of kin. Some will do it and some won’t. But it is an option to explore. And then if you do get access to the email account that way and then you could probably just use it to reset the password on his Wyze account to gain access.
