I live in New Jersey and own a small farm in Colombia. I want to set up a few cameras there, but I can’t travel right now. What’s the best way to add those cameras to the same app I use for my home cameras?
Thanks all.
Seems easy enough to add as normal. Maybe place each location in groups.
Some say you might need a separate phone and login to mantain each timezone, if different zones.
After checking, I believe both are in the same timezone. Should be easy, unless someone else can provide a differing opinion.
If you are setting them up in New Jersey make sure that your SSID and Password are the same in Colombia as the one in New Jersey, seamless deployment.
If someone else is setting them up in Columbia, then you’re going to have to share your Wyze account credentials with them when it’s time to set up the cameras. I would recommend changing your password first, then sharing it with them then when they are done setting up the cameras, you will want to change your password again and setup 2FA again for protection. --Alternatively, they could just set the cameras up under their own account and then share them to your account. You just won’t have access to the SD card playback if they aren’t setup on your account.
If you are setting them up from New Jersey, then you can just create a temporary hotspot SSID and password on your phone or computer that matches the Network name and password in Columbia, then setup the cameras, then ship them over there for the other person to set them up. You can even share the camera view to them on a separate Wyze account so they can see the camera view to position them correctly. It should automatically connect if the SSID and password are exactly the same as when you set them up. I have done this plenty of times (ie: I take some Wyze cameras on vacation with me and then just create a hotspot at the hotel or wherever that uses the same network name/PW as my home router and everything connects seamlessly).
