I’m not sure if this is a known issue. But when I turn off the camera using the app, the status on the app correctly display it is off. While the camera is in this state, I can ask Alexa/Amazon on my Fire tablet to show me the camera and it will display the live feed. I can replicate this on all of my Wyze Cam V2 running the latest firmware (4.9.6.156).
Has anyone else experienced this?
Yes it’s been noticed. Ridiculous ain’t it.
Unfortunately it’s not just Wyze, Argo, Eufy, Ring, pretty much any iot camera seems to have the same issue.
Yep, I love this new “hidden gem” we have. I have been using this for the past two days and am now convinced that I have to unplug my camera when not in use. Great feature 
Do these “truly” turn off if I turn them off 
I use these on my cams and they do turn the power off to the cameras. You can actually hear the cam turn off after you turn off the Wyze plug. When there is power on the cams, they stay warm to the touch. When the power is off they’re cool.
And I’d you’re feeling paranoid just use a different brand of plug (and app).
