Yup, another crappy firmware release from WYZE. I reported this in the appropriate thread. You can read my post here, which gives examples. I’m done submitting logs to WYZE though…someone else can do that.

Seeing the same pattern on Cam v4 after that firmware — choppy SD/event playback and out-of-sync audio usually means the camera is struggling to keep a steady encode/write pace after the update, not a one-off SD glitch.

A few things that have helped sort “worked fine before update” Cam v4 cases:

1. Power-cycle both cams after the firmware settles (unplug 30–60s, or remove/reseat battery models if applicable), then leave them alone for a few minutes before testing playback again.
2. In the Wyze app, format the microSD on each cam (this wipes the card) and retest with a known-good Class 10 / U1 card. A card that was fine on the old build can start stuttering under the new write pattern.
3. Check Events vs continuous SD recording separately — if live view and Events are both jumpy but the cam is on busy Wi‑Fi, try moving it closer to the AP or a less congested 2.4 GHz channel briefly to see if the stutter follows the network.
4. Note the exact firmware build on both units (you and others mentioned 4.52.x). If only one cam updated, hold the other until you know the build is stable, or update both so you’re comparing apples to apples.
5. If it still does it after a format + reboot on a fresh card, grab a short screen recording of live view + SD playback and open a support ticket / upload logs from that cam — multi-cam reports on the same build are what usually gets a firmware follow-up.

Curious if formatting the SD (or a different card) changes the stutter for you, or if it stays identical — that usually splits “card/write” from “encode/firmware.”

Hello, We reported this in the Wyze Cam v4 Beta Test 7/27/2026 for Beta Versions 4.52.17.10 and 4.52.17.13 which 4.52.17.19 now being the official release so it never got fixed for two months now.

You can read this topic regarding those beta versions [Wyze Cam v4 Firmware Beta Test 7/27/2026](https://forums.wyze.com/t/wyze-cam-v4-firmware-beta-test-7-27-2026/344026)

They released a new beta to address this bug but looks like they pulled the beta firmware because it is no longer offered [Wyze Duo Cam Pan, Cam v3, Pan v3, Pan v2, Cam v3 Pro & Cam v4 Firmware Beta Test 9/16/2026](https://forums.wyze.com/t/wyze-duo-cam-pan-cam-v3-pan-v3-pan-v2-cam-v3-pro-cam-v4-firmware-beta-test-9-16-2026/344812)

This is the reason I stopped testing their beta firmwares and app releases as Wyze doesn’t seem to listen to testers feedback.

My v4 cams have been unreliable for a couple of years. I’ve assumed it was poor application software or firmware until this last firmware update fried some of my off-brand microSD cards. As I was ready to dump Wyze I decided to follow the advice of many and buy an endurance class card (SanDisk in my case, formatted in my Mac) and try it before I bit the bullet. I have to admit I should have done this years ago. The SanDisk equipped v4 starts up in a fraction of the time the other functioning cameras do and runs flawlessly with zero interrupts/going off-line. Have now ordered enough for the rest of my cameras.

Good cards are now big bucks. My ($23.00 ) 256GB Samsung Pro Endurance cards that I purchased years ago are now between $137.49 and $169.75. Samsung sells them at $153.99.

People don’t realize that SD cards if not functioning properly will hinder any camera regardless of brand. Either use high endurance or high quality class 10/C cards or don’t use them at all.

I’m not saying that this is your case, but SD cards have finite life. Maybe your cards reached that point. I had three cameras acting erratically for few days and it turned out to be dead SD cards. The cards were purchased and inserted into the cameras at the same time. Replacing them fixed the issue.

All my V4 cams say a new firmware update is available today 4.52.17.26. I see no information about it yet, another 💥 ?

Beta information says it fixes SD card issues. I don’t do Beta so it must be a public release of the firmware.
