I just bought (2) Cam V4’s and for some reason they will not flash through the App.
I’m trying to flash with manually with the instructions, and they won’t reflash that way either
32 gb sandisk card
only has the single file “recovery_wcv4.bin” in the root, and no other files
tried a 3 second hold, tried a 6 second hold, and tried a longer hold.
when holding the power button and plugging in, I see the red light come on for about 2 second, then a split second purple, then back to red.
after that the red goes out and it boots normally.
I’ve tried 2 different SD cards to flash it.
any advice?

I would try holding down the button for a lot longer than 6 seconds. I updated my V4 the other day to the July 2024 firmware from the app and it took a few minutes. Try 20-30 seconds or more. What firmware version are you trying to load?
Ive tried that. Held it until it play the “ready to connect”
I wonder if its the file name/location as i think the quick purple is an attempt to loo, for the file but not find it.
Any chance it needs to be in sub folder?

recovery_wcv4.bin
Did you unzip recovery_wcv4.bin or just drag it to the root directory of the SD card? The file needs to be unzipped.

This is the July file and it is 9.19 MB
Yes i unzipped and put in the root dir. Note the file in the zip has a “(space)1” in it which i removed as per the instructions.
Ive also confirmed its a fat32 as well
Yup thats the file inhave in the root… (extracted from zip)
Got it!
I had to do two things. Not sure which fixed it
i placed both name format bin files “recovery_wcv4.bin” (as per instruction) and “recovery_wcv4 1.bin” (what came in the zip) in the root dir
really cranked down on the setup button (ive always heard /felt the click of the button, but just in case i pressed really hard)

So your firmware is updated?
Yes. BUT. Doing the second cam(same card). Is just as much a pain.
Even pressing hard it does not work.
Just going to keep trying
Aarrgghh. I think i finally found it. Its the SD card. Found a cheap old 8gb one and it worked right away no fuss.
I think its the newer/faster/larger sd cards that it has issues with.
