Does Mom need to install a doorbell on all the eggs to get those little brats to come out?
I am eagerly awaiting the first egg cracking. Hopefully tomorrow morning. Then one by one they will all hatch the same day. Nature knows they might not all make it so that is why there is more than one egg.
Still have plenty of live mealworms in the basement fridge to feed the chicks. Keep the mealworms cold and they stay dormant,
Bam bam bam bam 4 chicks hatched within 20 minutes of each other. One straggler that might not make it.
The flashes are from the sparrow spooker.
Fortunately I have seen no sparrows or starlings lately.
Mom better get lunch ready.
I can never tell the difference between a wasp and a mud dauber other than the nest. But this guy has been hanging around the bluebird feeder all morning.
To keep wasps from making a nest in a birdhouse, take a bar of regular soap like Dove and rub the soap into the bottom side of the roof. The soap film prevents the wasp from starting a stalk for the nest. Can’t stick to the soap and the soap doesn’t bother the birds.
Looks like alien to me
Mud daubers have a pretty iridescent blue on them.
#5 decided to come out of its shell.
I kill me.
I don’t know a way to relocate the camera. Mom always blocks the view when feeding. I’m happy with the focus. Look at the feathers how crisp the image is. Pretty soon the chicks will be much bigger and mom will not fit to feed them so she will just stick her head in.
MrsG likes when mom bluebird does the wiggle waggle at the end to get the chicks arranged.
Looks like she was shuffling the deck.
I thought about installing a camera under the nest for the next brood, but even with a plastic shield the view would be obstructed by nesting material. Would be funny to see the shuffle from below.
Went to the cupboard but the cupboard was bare
Some scary man finally woke from his nap
Live mealworms going in. You can hear me talking to momma because she was watching me.
Mom says food first, nap later.
Ate a few too many, it appears almost didn’t make it out!
