Beta app Sharing an Event with Gmail fails

If you click on Events and play a clip, and then click on Share and select Gmail, the attachment to the new message is a .cache file and not .mp4 which is obviously a problem as the recipient has no ability to recognize or play a .cache file.

Just tried with Android app v2.10.41.

Works fine if you’re sending from an Album.

Interesting that a .cache file is attached to a Gmail share from the Event screen yet when I share it with YouTube or YouCut app from the Event screen it opens fine as a video.

This could be related to a bug fix we made recently which hides the temp videos/pictures from Android picture search. I think we missed a place when sharing event videos. We will fix it in 2.11 release.

If it’s really something you need download it then attach it to an email.

It is downloaded as a cache file

The work around I discovered is share it using YouTube upload there to my channel and share from there.
Alot of work just to get mp4 file format.
Never had to do this used to download and share as mp4.

Will never buy anymore of there products.

I am using beta version 2.11.40 on Android.
Share with Gmail is working now.

I’m running public v2.11.40 on Android and it’s working fine… sharing .mp4 with Gmail. The previous version shared a .cache file.

@barbbiv - which Wyze app (public or beta) and which version are you running?

Wyze app Home > Account > About

I assume we have the same version. WYZE doesn’t make that clear.

Probably.

Also… even under the old version, you can just change the filetype name from .cache to .mp4 and it works because the .cache file is actually an mp4.
