I bought the Wyze Battery Cam Pro, one reason is the motion trigger is advertised as “IR / heat signature movement” and “radar / electro magnet field detention”.
At night, if a car drives by with bright lights, and illuminates the yard, it triggers the camera recording.
I tried using the “detention zone” to remove the actual roadway, but the lights shine into the yard which is an area I need detection.
From my understanding, with the Battery Cam Pro motion detection hardware as stated / advertised , should NOT be triggered by light illumination. Some cameras that use the “frame change” comparison method would obviously detect, but these cameras shouldn’t.
I have had my battery cam pro for over a month now, I had to charge it today.
It definitely has a problem with fog and dew.
The V3 and V3 Pro seem to do better at preventing lens fogging.
Maybe someone will come up with a dome to put over it.
I wanted to use it to scare off animals that get into my front flower bed with the alarm.
The car lights kept setting off the motion though. So I did like you, I created a detection zone, and now I am down to sensitivity 2 and 20 foot detection distance. Once I get it where it detects pets and/or people without falsing on the car lights, I will add the Siren via a rule (to run only at night). This is kind of an expensive camera, so I hope I can get it to work.
