Battery cam pro mounting issue

I can’t get the swivel to function properly. My camera just hangs down, like it has a broken neck. I read that I’m supposed to tighten the outer piece over the part that is screwed into the wall, and I have tightened it as far as I can and still no tension on the ball joint. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Can you post a picture of it and the mount point.

The mount works as a pressure fitting. There should be a little silver ball at the end of a stem and when you tighten the nut it compresses around that ball.

Hard to explain, but hopefully you get the idea

Ok, I got it to work. The three screws that came with the base of the mount were very soft and dethreaded trying to screw them in place. I replaced them with other screws, and with them could not tighten the top part of the mount with the swivel ball to the base. So I removed those and used flat head nails.

Apparently the heads of the replacement screws prevented the two mount pieces from tightening. That appears to have been the root of the problem. Hopefully anyone doing a future search with the same issue can use this to help solve their problem.

The camera is now mounted and functioning properly. It took some doing to get the piece with the swivel ball to tighten in the right position, that is to get the camera pointed in the right direction. The last, final tighten would always cause the camera angle to slightly misalign. Persistence and anticipating how the last tighten would shift the angle got the job done.

Great catch. Glad it worked out for you.
