I’ve been using Wyze for years now. I have currently 8 different models of cameras working from V1 to V4. So far everything has been good. I’ve decided to get more since they had good deals for Memorial Day. I got a new Battery Cam Pro (already have one working with an SD card) but when I tried to install it everything seems normal up to the point when I tried to test. I don’t get livestream even when I changed all settings. It won’t recognize a brand new sd card. I see the status light and spotlight would come on when it senses motion. It takes pics but it doesn’t matter what I try no livestream. Tried to update but found another issue “no devices linked to this account” but I can still watch all of the others on screen (live or SD recording). I also got wyze cam V4 and was able to install it with no trouble at all. Can someone help with these issues? I’ve done everything the bot says and nothing has worked.
Well well well, that’s a new one I don’t recall seeing before. Can I ask what software you’re using android or iPhone and also what app version you are on? We’ll start out on the simple things because this is A really odd one
hmmm is the device showing on your home screen as a successful addition?
im trying to think who I can tag in on this one that has alot of experience.
Thanks.
Yes, it shows. Battery is fully charged (2 green light on it) but as you can see it says 0%. It just says loading livestream and goes to failed to connect.
that is most interesting. in your inital post to said that you “can see pics”,
are you able to sucessly watch those cloud recordings showing there in full? they dont give you any errors?
my first inclination would be to remove the sd card, and delete the cam from the app. only the app, no need to hard reset, and just go through the adding pages again for it.
one other thing I can think of, what network are you running? are you by chance running this in an area that its only connecting is through a third party wifi extender?
I am going to tag in one of my fellow teamates, and see if maybe he is noticing anything im overlooking, @carverofchoice thoughts?
That’s the most interesting part. It doesn’t have a SD card in it. Because it was not recognizing the SD card I just took it out. But I still get “recent events” (pics not video) even though I don’t have Cam plus.
I already did all that you’ve mentioned. Deleted device and reinstalled it. Deleted cache. Deleted the app. Nothing has worked so far.
Tried with the regular Wi-Fi and wifi extender. Restarted the router. I even tried to “jump start the whole house”. Cut the electricity off but it didn’t work. All of the others seem fine.
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
My mistake I mixed it up with the other ones you had mentioned and them having SD cards. I did tag my guy Carver in on here but I’m gonna tag the maven team and just see if they might have any interesting ideas on this one. That is quite peculiar. Wi-fi extenders are notorious for a lot of lag signal and delay which these cameras especially if they’re in a remote area can have a much larger and longer time to connect, even mine in strong signal areas take longer than I would like to connect. But yeah something isn’t working here correctly it sounds like you’ve done a lot of the good troubleshooting you need to do already.
this is what our team does, we are glad to help, We just happen to be super nerds and mess around with these more than the common orangutan LOL. And this one despite me having a fair bit of knowledge on this particular model and you haven’t done all the troubleshooting you already have i’m running out of troubleshooting ideas so I’m thinking the team might know. I know there’s got to be something probably simple i’m overlooking here.
hey @Mavens Anybody have any ideas on this particular one? All our normal troubleshooting tips have already been done to no avail. I have to be missing something. ![]()
You can ignore that part. It’s not connected so it has no idea how much charge is left. It can’t query anything on the device until the connection has been established.
Bring the camera indoors and test a few feet away from the router.
I’ve been reading this one but haven’t really had any input because I don’t have a Battery Cam Pro and don’t have any ideas specific to that model that I could add; however, since being summoned as part of the team, I feel compelled to contribute something, so here are my thoughts:
If it’s new and not recognizing the card (and if you know that it’s a good microSD card), then this and the other difficulties you’re having with it make me wonder if it’s a defective unit. What did Support say when you contacted them? I’m not talking about the bot. I’m talking about getting past the bot and communicating with a human agent. I suspect they may want to just try replacing this unit for you.
Other things that you could try that I don’t think I’ve read (let me know if you already said and I missed it) would include a factory reset of the device, bringing it indoors or wherever your main Wi-Fi gateway is to maximize its signal during attempted setup and initial configuration, and potentially clearing out both the in-app and Android cache and data to completely refresh your local profile from the server (though with this last one you probably accomplished essentially the same thing when you said you deleted the app).
Those are kind of general ideas, because the kinds of things you’re describing seem to me like problems with the Wi-Fi connection/signal, so I’d probably pull the camera indoors and start over with a factory reset, but with microSD failures I’d probably open a Support ticket first to get the ball rolling on a replacement since it’s a new device.
Power cycle your device, then the camer,I have noticed that this model camera is slow to load,I have better luck with my EufyCam I switch over to them due to im useing the 4K Camera with built in solar panel and my home basestation 3 was upgraded to 12TB of storage a much better camera…
@Crease covered basically everything I was about to suggest too (at least everything that @Bam didn’t already cover), so here’s me giving a very strong +1 to what Crease just said ![]()
dagnumit! lol here comes crease with the strike, and The only reason I didn’t tag him was because of his reported personal use with the BCP. And here he is still striking it hot!
I’m afraid that might be the case.
Sorry guys. I was out of town.
I have tried all the suggestions (reset, restart, deleted app, device and cache, put it next to the router, etc) and so far I haven’t had any luck.
Unfortunately, I’m already overseas with it and it may cost more to send it back than to get a new one.
Thanks for all the help.
My experience with their product defect warranty replacements is that if you can demonstrate that you purchased from them or from an authorized retailer then they usually just ship you a new unit and tell you to recycle the defective one. In the case of the Battery Cam Pro, that likely means that you’d end up with a new camera plus an extra rechargeable battery pack (your original) if they decide to replace it for you and can ship it to wherever you received your previous unit. That’s something to consider if you want to open a ticket with them and have someone who can receive a replacement for you.
