I saw a request the other day as to how one might track the number of times his door would open in a given day. Since it was close to something I’ve done before using IFTTT and Google Sheets, I thought I’d play with it a little.
I created two IFTTT apps, one for sensors and the other for motion detectors, had had a time stamp, trigger device, and description added to a new row in a specific Google spreadsheet. The spreadsheet would automatically total the number of times a specific sensor or motion detector were triggered and also place the info in a graph, all in real time. All happens completely automatically. Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool.
