its funny and sad, I use to be a hardcore Wyze fan, loved everything about that company when they launched and I would recommended them to everyone I met but as the years went on and they lock down their stuff more and more to their eco system, I have been moving away from them, I had there locks and sensors, those are now gone and in a box collecting dust, replaced by zigbee sensors and the Switchbot ultra lock. I had multiple generations of their cameras and outdoor patio cameras and outdoor smart plug, those also joined the box replaced by Reolink Cameras and a Zwave outdoor plug. I had 3 different models of their scales, those have been given away replaced by Fitindex, I had their smart watch, its in the box replaced by fitbit… All that I effectively have left that of Wyze is their light bulbs… Guess I will have to start going through my home and replacing all of those with a brand that plays nice with Home Assistant like Aqara or even Govee.
Flip side when I put all that Wyze equipment up on ebay, I guess for those who want to be in a locked down ecosystem will have a heck of a jump start, its sad how far Wyze has fallen and how they use to be all about their consumer base and now just dont care… ~_~
So…still not fixed ? My Wyze cams have bee offline for the past 3 weeks … seems the only way will be to hack them, install a custom firmware and do away with Wyze in the future ?
Since the OG creator of the repo is basically pushing this to the side, would it be more beneficial at this point for wyze to fork it, and take ownership, and get the updated changes pushed out? Now would be a great opportunity.
Wyze doesn’t really have any incentive to fix this. If they do, it may break Wyze software. If they don’t, it only affects a small number of users who have connected things to Home Assistant.

I know the Wyze integration isn’t an “official” one and seeing Wyze fixing something on a non-official integration/platform, that’s incredible! I would love to see work underway on an official Wyze integration as that can make Wyze products a lot more powerful!
Sadly this has been headed in one direction for some time.
Wyze purposely hide security holes for three years and when they did address them it involved oddly enough by putting more things behind a paywall.
Now there no legal requirement for them to support home assistant or other platforms even if it’s amazingly short sighted. But the behavior of stringing people along is morally suspect at best.
The reason things worked was because of the good work of people like tom and kate but even they get tired of dealing with the nonsense wyze puts in front of them.
Most i think have figured it’s time to move away from wyze. It may not die right now or with this mess but the writing quite clear at this point.
There are too many other alternatives that work with the communities to make ever thing better for all parties.
Well I just ordered enough Zigbee RGB Led Light Bulbs to replace all my Wyze bulbs, I now have zero wyzy products involved with my home and myself. Time to put a massive lot of Wyze Smart Home stuff on eBay and to uninstall the Wyze app from my phone, it was a good 10 year run but that time has now ended.
@WyzeChuanzhu @WyzeDave I hope you understand I’m not trying to contribute to a Wyze beat-down, but I’m tired of Tech Companies that refuse interoperabiltiy. I’d happily BLOCK every iot device from the internet & force everything through a hub, which would give me local control, privacy & security. That hub is Home Assistant.
I’ll end with a quote: “Your Door Knob does not require the same brand door to work, nor does your outlet brand need to be the same as your breaker panel. There are common standards that allow people to build & upkeep their home with brands & availabilty that work for them, yet the tech world thinks they don’t need to have the same interoperability.”
In the end it’s less about bashing and more about people just having had enough.
Wyze keeps saying stuff but their actions over the last few years have made it clear it was just talk.
Combine that with the fact that they don’t offer anything you can’t get from somewhere else with far better support and feedback, has made it so people are just done.
It does make one wonder what wyze is thinking though.
If they had a product you couldn’t get anywhere else it would be one thing but they don’t and in some cases there not even cheaper.
People are done and taking their money elsewhere.
Wyze HACS now updated and with the latest HA version, all Wyze compatible devices running no issue.
Yep, just updated everything and things seem to work now. They, HA Wyze Integration, added the Air Purifiers to the mix. However, I can’t seem to control them via HA. there are options for Fan Speed, Sleep, on / Off. Nothing seems to work for me.
