Plugs not responding here either. If this is an AWS problem, the irony is, my Amazon Alexa plugs are working normally!

Same here, both my plugs are working normally again. Just hope there are lessons learned from this, and improvements are made to the design.

All plugs except for two came back online and are working properly.

The two that did not, I had to disconnect and re-add with the app.

Same here and had I known this is how the plugs operate I never would have bought. How ridiculous that the schedule is not kept locally like many of the other smart plugs out there. Lesson of the day, don’t assign the plugs to anything important

Any update on the fix for the plugs going offline?

Yes, both of my original non-bluetooth wifi plugs stopped.
Both had their blue lights flashing slowly, not like the flashing when you pair.
I think the app showed them as connected to my network but offline.

Nothing worked; unplugged, reset, etc. Finally I decided to reboot my Fios router even though I had lost no other devices; Ring Door Bell/Cam, Echo Show, Google Home Mini, 2 Gosund Smart Bulbs, PC’s, TV’s etc. all working.

After rebooting the router I was able to set the plugs up and now they are working. The reboot might have worked by itself had I done it before doing a factory reset to the plugs, might have saved me time setting them up again, but until it happens again, I won’t know.

The annoying thing is that you have to be at the location to reset things. I have to look into whether or not I can reboot my router remotely using my ISP’s phone app.

My solution will be not to buy anymore WYZE devices.

My plugs are still offline. I would like wyze executive team to atleast keep folks updated on the status. Yesterday I got popup that services will be impacted due to AWS outage but since then there is no updates.

I’m thinking that my solution of rebooting my router is just a coincidence. I gave up on them yesterday and today it dawned on me to try rebooting the router and then I was able to reset the 2 plugs. After reading about the AWS outage and devices gradually coming back on line, it’s possible that my router had nothing to do with it.

Does the WYZE app provide announcements about such failures? It would have been nice to know. I wonder how many people that don’t access this forum tossed their devices in the garbage and just moved on?

Hi. I was one of those people who didn’t see the notice. And deleted all my plugs and bulbs to get them reset and now they won’t reset back up to my app. I’m highly annoyed. Luckily I have a mix of devices for my smart home but this is ridiculous and unacceptable that it’s taking them days to get this fixed. I work in a software environment and anything this catastrophic is fixed within 4 to 6 hours where I come from. But I guess my company cares more about our customers than Wyze does.

There is nothing wrong with your router. No need to reset that.
First of: I was seeing a fast flashing blue light and pushing the side button did not change it. Went to the APP in my phone and add another device (“+” sign at top, left). Go through the phone menu and it will add the plug to your network. Give it a name if you want. I went back later and changed the name to my original name and the rule I had set up last year was still there. Good luck.
