Walk into the store. They will stand there and tell you the same thing. They will also show out of stock with 100 units sitting in front of you in the wrong place under a different store code label.
It’s because their inventory system is a multilayer system that uses different scan in receiving codes from the DC and they have 100 different people who scan it into the wrong store label when receiving.
I experience this with them on a very regular basis. I will VERY RARELY shop them online. I did that one time for a Pro construction order and it was messed up from the ground up.
This is actually an automated process based on receiving and sales. But, returns are automatically added back to store stock even though they are never placed back in the shelf. If they are warranty returns, they rarely get adjusted out.
It’s not their website that is the issue, it is their entire inventory management and resources allocation enterprise software platform that is mismanaged.
I couldn’t find them either! They ended up being at the very front wall, by the checkouts. They’re in a locked cabinet. When they opened the cabinet to grab one they said they were all out. I said hold on, the website says you have five in stock. She looked all around and eventually found them.
I am one of those whose 1 foot is already out. But our HD still carries them, so I bought a package. I am going to give this as a Christmas gift to this guy that I don’t like very much.
I’m in SoCal. On 12/7, HD site said 10+ in stock at nearby store, I ordered, but later they texted cancellation due to out of stock.
Happened to be running errands across town, HD app indicated 10+ in stock at a different store, Went in person, there were none.
Reordered from the first store, and voila, scored. What a strange “system”.
My only regret is finding that the retail 2-pack has a ton of plastic packaging, so sad for our world.
My regret was opening the small “Quick Start Guide” and turning to the very first page to see that the first “step” is a full page CamPlus ad.
Come to think of it, the box is supposed to include 2 3-month trials that I’m not interested in, but I don’t see them documented. Wonder how that is supposed to work.
Anyhow, I’m finally seeing the starlight sensor in action. It’s nice.
@ Customer
I certainly agree about the obnoxiously pushed subscription trial.
I finally figured out that it would go away by quitting and restarting the app.
I haven’t experimented much, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the free 3 months is only an option at activation, but I am not certain. Maybe it does remember somehow, or maybe it’s automatically added to the account. Someone should check the services section in the account tab to see.
I am not sure why the Alexa announcements aren’t working for you with CPLite…could have something to do with Alexa’s reorganization pains lately. I think it’s SUPPOSED to work though.
