After the app update (yesterday apparently) getting this message on my Panv3s. A bit confusing. When does it auto calibrate? Is this something new? Why doesn’t it calibrate when there isn’t a card installed? What does having the silicone cover in place have to do with calibration? Since calibration runs it through the same range of motion that manual user movement and motion tracking can, seems like this would be a recommendation regardless.
Bit mysterious. I’m sort of guessing it is just basically saying “even if you never move your cam, make sure the card cover is on since this cam can move on its own” or something like that, but who knows.
Wonder if this has something to do with the failing SD card slots and they think this has something do do with it….
Worth noting I didn’t insert a card recently, so I guess you get this message once after upgrading the app regardless.
Ha, to make it even more confusing, non pan cams are also giving the message, the non pan ones just don’t mention anything about calibration. The message on the others makes a lot more sense, just saying make sure the cover is installed.
Which makes me wonder even more about the first part of the Panv3 message saying something about auto calibration when the card is inserted. I guess they just mean it will now do a one time calibration to make sure the user didn’t mess it up by moving it to install the card?
Below is the one from the v4 which makes more sense. The OGs and OG-TEL are not giving any warnings.
Yep. I tap the checkbox and hit Dismiss. If you have a lot of pan cams and multiple viewing devices, you’ll be doing a lot of tapping and dismissing because notice dismissal is at the app/device and cam level, not account level.
I guess the part about auto calibration just means a “one time” thing since people probably move the cam to install the card. But the wording makes it very confusing and makes it seem like the two things are related, when it is just two separate warnings.
